Asustek to Acquire Askey

Asustek announced on October 5 that it will acquire network equipment maker Askey and make it a full subsidiary. The companies will use a swap of shares to make the deal happen, with one Asustek share exchanged for seven Askey shares. Through this acquisition, which is expected to be completed by March 2006, Asustek hopes to develop its broadband network equipment business.
